AI Promise

The thinking is original.
The AI is the editor.

A clear account of how AI tools are used in the creation of content on this site — and what that means for the ideas you read here.

The Promise

Every idea, framework, structure, and line of reasoning is original.

It is drawn from 25 years of practitioner observation — building organisations from the inside, carrying strategy through difficult conditions, developing leaders in real environments with real consequences. No model was asked what to think. No prompt generated the framework. The perspective on these pages is mine.

What AI does

Review. Not authorship.

AI tools are used to review drafts — checking clarity, probing whether the argument holds under pressure, identifying where reasoning drifts or a sentence says something other than what was intended. It functions as a thorough first reader with no stake in agreeing with me.

What AI does not do

Generate. Author. Reason.

The frameworks, arguments, examples, and conclusions are not AI-generated. A model can tell me where a sentence is weak. It cannot tell me what it felt like to carry a failing strategy through a difficult year, or what a trust ceiling looks like from inside a relationship that has hit one. That is where the writing comes from.

Fair usage

Use AI to engage. Not to replace engaging.

You are welcome to use AI tools to summarise, question, or extend what you read here. The intent is that you engage with the ideas — whether through a model or directly. What this writing is not designed for is wholesale extraction without attribution, or synthetic repurposing that strips the practitioner context that makes the argument worth reading.

Ethical commitment

Transparency without apology.

AI assistance in review is disclosed because honesty about process is part of intellectual integrity — not as a caveat or hedge. This work is held to one standard: does it give a leader language for something they have experienced but could not name, and a path they could not see? AI does not answer that question. The writing does.

The standard

An AI can improve how something is said.
It cannot provide something worth saying.
